Awful, awful series. No point to it whatsoever. It makes Punisher 2099 and Ravage 2099 look brilliant, comparatively. Don’t think it ever made it out of the single digits before the entire 2099 line was cancelled.

Here I was saying that I’d probably never get another chance for my two Tumblr blogs to crossover, when BOOM! Dean Trippe goes and puts both Voltron and Spidey 2099 in the same image with pretty much almost every other hero of mine. (He & I agreed over Twitter that it needed Tom Servo, though.) In a world more perfect than ours Dean would be head of DC Comics, not Jim Lee; he deserves it so much more. Give him your monies & adulation.

Is true! I haven’t been reading Superior Spider-Man after #1; just not a Spidey fan, or even Evil Spidey. But I might just have to pick up the arc including Miguel to make sure Dan Slott uses him well. Sort of like how I always look out for Power Pack to confirm they’re not being shat on (SPOILER: They usually are).

I kinda had wood for Paloma when this came out. So did Wire, Doom’s Romany hacker whose brains got fried by her.

BTW, I’ve often lamented the absence of Pat Broderick in the present comic scene on here. As it turns out, he JUST launched an online-exclusive comic, NIBIRU AND THE LEGEND OF THE ANNUNAKI. Very Erich von Danniken-type stuff. He’s only gotten better in the interim! Check out that action.

What’s funny is that at the time she was created, her codename was a riff on the present-day X-Men’s mutant-locating computer, Cerebro. But at a certain point they upgraded Cerebro into Cerebra, which gained sentience and, like all computers do when they gain sentience, she tried to kill them all. You wonder whether that might’ve been a discarded plotline from X-Men 2099, doncha? You don’t? Uh, me either, then.
